Holiday with a good feeling

The Kiendl awaits you in a unique location amidst the breathtaking mountains of South Tyrol, not only promising sustainability, but also putting it into practice.

We focus on:

  • Regional seasonal products at breakfast and dinner
  • 100% green electricity and energy-efficient technologies in all hotel rooms and public areas
  • Environmentally conscious pellet heating from ETA, all heating systems can be controlled fully automatically for each floor
  • All of the Kiendl's outdoor lighting switches on at dusk and is time-controlled to minimise unnecessary light pollution at night
  • Special control software runs in the background to optimise electrical consumption peaks
  • High-quality showers with economy function; all toilets have a manual flush stop
  • The infinity panorama pool is operated with salt electrolysis and solar thermal energy. In cool weather, an automatically adjustable heat retention cover saves resources
  • The air conditioning in the relaxation rooms and the indoor pool has a modern heat recycling system
  • Environmentally friendly mobility - with electric car charging stations and perfect public transport connections
  • High-quality, plastic-free room amenities
  • Sustainably produced, vegan hotel cosmetics from Nature
  • Working attitude aimed at waste reduction and waste avoidance throughout the hotel operations
  • Environmentally friendly cleaning detergents
  • Cooperation with local producers and craft businesses

Mindful experiences

Sustainable & close to nature

The Merano region is ideal for anyone who wants to combine sustainability and nature. Whether hiking on the ‘Tappeinerweg’ trail, cycling along the Passer river or a trip to the gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle - you can experience South Tyrol softly, consciously and at a slower pace.

The Kiendl is the perfect starting point for enjoyable hikes, relaxing cycle tours or simply doing nothing. Perhaps with a glass of South Tyrolean wine on the terrace.

In winter, the nearby ski resorts such as Merano 2000 offer you climate-friendly winter sports with an environmentally conscious infrastructure.

  • Fresh, regional and seasonal cuisine from the surrounding area
  • Personal hosts with a passion for nature and culture
  • Climate-friendly travel: with the digital South Tyrol Guest Pass, you can reach your holiday home free of charge by public transport
  • We are happy to organise authentic, tailor-made experiences for you on site

Together for success

Join us actively on our path to sustainability - a few steps that we can take together will make a big difference to the environment and the natural and cultural landscape of South Tyrol!

  • Arrive and switch off: the journey was exhausting, many kilometres lie between your home and the Kiendl. Once you have arrived, we hope that you have a good rest from everyday life. A short walk to the nearby Naifkapelle chapel will help you to contemplate and get in the mood for South Tyrol's natural landscape.
  • Avoid plastic: Plastic products are ever-present but harmful to the environment, especially when plastic waste ends up in nature. By making conscious purchasing decisions, you can help to reduce plastic consumption in South Tyrol.
  • Use packaging such as glass bottles multiple times instead of disposing of them after a single use.
  • Do not dispose of items brought from home on site, but return them to your recycling system: PET bottles or returnable bottles from other EU countries are not taken back in South Tyrol. Please take your bottles back home with you.
  • Less Chianti, more Lagrein: consume products such as wine, water or other drinks and snacks from local sources. This enhances your holiday experience and clearly reduces your CO2 footprint in South Tyrol.
  • Discover the variety of flavours in South Tyrol by visiting local inns, hikers' huts and restaurants. Sushi fits Japan like Kaiserschmarrn in a rustic mountain hut or a real Italian pizza in Merano.
  • Hiking happiness: fewer cars and more steps - increases your fitness and reduces emissions.
  • Experience sustainability: public transport reduces the volume of traffic and spares your nerves in traffic chaos.
  • Sustainable enjoyment: we consciously focus on regional and seasonal products, true to the motto ‘more quality, not quantity’.
  • Digital detox: spend a day without a smartphone. Digital detox is an efficient way to give your body space and experience your surroundings more consciously.
